We are happy to present the collaboration between Alfafuels, Cocpit, and Fuelgae, three european projects working on algal and renewable fuels.
From the collaboration of these projects was born SUSTAFUELS, a cluster that aims to innovate and spread knowledge in the field of sustainable fuel production.
The SUSTAFUELS initiative contributes to the European Green Deal objective of making Europe climate neutral by 2050, thus improving the quality of life thanks to a cleaner and healthier environment and the development of innovative technologies: stimulating research and innovation in key sectors.
The three projects, together, aim to provide a more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional jet fuel. As the demand for air travel continues to grow, the need for cleaner and more sustainable fuels becomes increasingly urgent.
ALFAFUELS is a Horizon Europe project which seeks to develop innovative Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) technology to reduce aviation’s reliance on fossil fuels.
Cocpit Project is a 4-years Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action that aims to support the large-scale production of microalgae-based fuels for hard-to-electrify sectors.
FUELGAE is a EU-funded Research Project that aims to develop a novel model of advanced liquid fuels (ALF) production from different CO₂ emissions streams of two industrial sectors (biorefinery and energy-intensive industries) through a microalgae pilot plant integrated into their infrastructure.
